I’m John Gardner, and I focus on building systems, teams that perform.
Home improvement wasn’t the original plan – or even the second. I went to college thinking I’d be a dentist. That didn’t happen. My first job was in tech, and I loved it. I got really good at solving problems, but a freak ankle injury changed everything. Now I lead companies in spaces I hadn’t considered, but it turns out building is in my blood. From scratch, from chaos, from whatever’s in front of me. Making things run better than they did yesterday… that’s where I operate best.
I’ve rebuilt failing orgs, led companies through years of double-digit growth, and made the tough calls that nobody prepares you for. I’ve also hit walls, taken risks that didn’t pan out and had to learn the hard way… fast. That’s business- no one is coming to save you.
It takes grit, strategy, and the humility and willingness to learn from every failure to build any business, and it’s the approach I rely on to turn challenges into results.
